Cosplay Tournament of Champions

Fourth Stage 

held at SM Manila on September 28,2013

  I happen to stumble upon this on the internet and thought I might check it out.

I haven't been in any real cosplay tournament and this might be my first 

because all the other SM malls that held it are very far away. 

  The cosplay is mostly anime characters with the occasional western superheroes 

and video games.

  Though I enjoy the show, I didn't stay long because of the rain and the front of the

mall is flooding, thus I only took a few pics. It sucks to have conventions at wet seasons.

  I was gonna upload a couple of videos I took, but it's so darn long to upload 

it here I may as well forget it.

Mio Akiyama Prize Figure (Bootleg, again)

  As with the Yui figure, Mio Akiyama, the scaredy-cat from K-ON! What have
been said of Yui applies to Mio as well. Thou these two are the better bootlegs
of the four. Tsumugi and Ritsu are awful , I mean awful awful.

Yui needed a partner-in-crime.
Enter Mio!

  The skin color of her legs are yellowish and she doesn't balance on the base. 

Accessories are the same with those two except for the heart on Yui's bag.

"Yui, why do you need to kill so much?"

At least the view is nice.

Yui Hirasawa Prize Figure (Bootleg, of course!)

  A bootleg figure of K-ON!'s main vocalist, the energetic airhead Yui. This is a fake
replica of the original prize figure. Like the ORIGINAL Rei and Asuka maid figure,
you can only acquire this at a raffle in Japan. But since this is a bootleg, you can
acquire this anywhere.

She hides the body of her victim in these bags!

  As with all bootlegs, it's not so bad if you look at it in a distance. Up close, however,
you can spot the ugliness of it.

This is the hand that can steal souls.

  Classic signs of a bootleg, bad paint, uneven mold, different materials used on
different parts, shininess.

I am MOE!! Mesmerize by my cuteness while
I suck your very life essence! (and your money.) 

      Bootlegs, they will never leave no matter what you or anyone do. So we might

as well appreciate these ugly beauty.

 

 Collecticon 2013

   A yearly toy convention that host some rare and not-so-rare toys, figures, model kits,
etc. Collecticon 2013 is held in the Philippines at Robinsons Place Manila on Sept. 20
to 22 supposedly (I found out Sept. 22, the third day, was canceled by the organizers
for reasons beyond their help). Nevertheless, we still got 2 days.

  Toy conventions are the perfect place to hunt for rare and long lost figures. But 

more often than not, they're like a garage sale. They also sell various other stuff.

  The conventions, aside from selling toys, also held contest set by the organizers. 

Like the Gundam model kits competition, where the winners gets a trophy and 

showcase prizes. Provided, you know how to customize a Gundam. 

  Other contest include photography and sculpting, like the 1/6 scale figures.

  And there are auctions, dance contest and cosplay that are held on stage, probably

on the second day.
